Nessus scanning

This is a simple post.

TryHackMe has step-by-step instructions on how to download/install and use Nessus. A very popular vulnerability scanner is used in the professional environment!

First, I simply create a user account, a free version of course

Then moving into the installation process after obtaining an authentication key with an email sign up

Once these first few steps were completed. We get to set the scanning type

Nesses made it easy to see pre configured scans that a simple IP address or web service input can be typed in. I used the IP address of my KALI linux machine.

After about 10 minutes, I got a report!

And a full list of host details in plain text

And again for many vulnerability scanners I seem to use, I tend to see a recurring trend.
